Meet Sara, one of our trusted babysitters from our vibrant team located in our first ever location, ancient and romantic Florence. Sara is originally from Iran, and is whenever she is not babysitting with us, she enjoys an active lifestyle outdoors as well as doing arts and crafts projects at home – both interests which add value to the children she passionately takes care of. 1. What inspired you to become a babysitter, and how has that motivation shaped your approach to childcare? It was actually out of love for children and seeing their curiosity and creativity that inspired me to become a babysitter. I have always thought of childhood as a time that has great formative significance; to be able to make a positive influence in those years can do a lot. This motivation has significantly contributed to my philosophy of caring for children around patience and empathy. More so, it encourages the creation of space where children feel secure, valued, and are further motivated to realize their own potential. 2. How do you create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for the kids you care for? To create a fun and engaging environment, I try to get to know each child’s unique personality, interests, and what makes them light up. Whether it’s organizing a craft session, playing their favorite games, or heading outside for some fresh air and exploration, I make sure the activities feel special and enjoyable for them. Of course, safety always comes first—I keep a close eye on everything, make sure the space is safe, and set clear, friendly boundaries. Most importantly, I encourage kids to be themselves and express their ideas, which helps us build a strong bonds and creating a space where they feel comfortable and happy. 3. Can you share a memorable or rewarding experience you’ve had while babysitting? One of my most rewarding experiences was during an 8-day holiday nanny job, caring for a boy who wasn’t afraid of water but didn’t yet know how to swim and was hesitant to venture deeper into the pool. To help him feel more confident and comfortable, I created a fun and engaging environment using floating tubes, inflatable pool toys, and his favorite water-safe toys. Each day, I gently encouraged him to explore a bit further while ensuring he felt safe and supported. By combining patience, creativity, and plenty of encouragement, we turned swimming sessions into an exciting game he truly enjoyed. By the end of the week, he was confidently navigating the water and even trying basic swimming techniques, all while smiling and laughing. Watching him grow more confident and happy in such a short time was an incredibly fulfilling experience and a reminder of the joy that comes from helping children overcome challenges in a positive, playful way. 4. Do you have a favorite location or city where you’ve worked as a sitter? What made it stand out? One of my favorite locations where I worked as a holiday nanny was Sorrento, staying in a beautiful villa called Villa Mambrini with an American family. The experience was unforgettable for so many reasons. The villa itself was stunning—modern, luxurious, and equipped with every amenity you could imagine. The family had arranged a private and very comfortable room for me on a separate floor, complete with a spacious balcony offering breathtaking views of the forest and the sea. Waking up to such serene beauty every day was truly a dream. What made the experience even more special was the family I worked for. They were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and respectful, which made my job not just enjoyable but genuinely fulfilling. Their warmth and the care they showed towards me created a positive and supportive atmosphere that made the work feel more like being part of a family. It was an exceptional combination of a perfect location and wonderful people, making it one of the most memorable jobs I’ve ever had. 5. What advice would you offer to parents who are traveling with children for the first time? Traveling with children can be an amazing experience if planned well. My advice to parents is to maintain routines as much as possible, such as regular meal and sleep times, to keep kids comfortable. Pack familiar items like toys or blankets to help them feel at home, and always have snacks and entertainment for long journeys. Most importantly, be flexible and patient—traveling can be unpredictable, but it’s an opportunity for wonderful family memories. 6. What special qualities or skills do you have that allow you to connect with the children you care for? One of the things I’m proud of is my ability to really listen to kids and understand what they need. I’m patient and empathetic, which helps me connect with them and build trust naturally. I also try to make everyday moments fun and meaningful—whether it’s through storytelling, doing crafts together, or exploring nature in a way that sparks their curiosity. These qualities help me create a genuine bond with each child and make our time together both enjoyable and special. 7. Can you share a bit about your professional life outside of Tripsitta or any personal hobbies/interests that you feel enhance your skills as a babysitter? Outside of babysitting, I’m passionate about activities that allow me to be creative and explore new perspectives. I love dancing and listening to music, which often inspires me to bring movement and rhythm-based activities into my time with children—it’s a great way to keep them active and engaged. I also enjoy photography and discovering beautiful, new places, which fuels my creativity and helps me plan fun outings or activities that encourage children to explore the world around them.
